Quotes From Other Weddings
THANK-YOU for being such quality folks, bringing
such excellent music to our daughters wedding celebration! For this we
rejoice! I simply want to say that you guys have continued to minister'
to Alan and I, even today as we drove back and forth to Virginia listening
to Across the Blue Mountains and the gospel cd all the way. Thank-you for
lovin' your music and ‘your' people. You guys have really gone the ‘extra
mile' for us. May our paths cross again, better sooner than later!
Margo & Al P., Ely MN
Was incredibly nice for you to be at our wedding ceremony. What beautiful
music you talented musicians play! You were a big part of my ‘perfect'
day. What warm and friendly people you are. If ever you need more references,
add us to your list of satisfied fans who would be willing to testify.
Your music is a beautiful touch.
Dawn K. & David R., Ramsey MN
We just got back from our honeymoon...We wanted to let you and the rest
of the band know how much your performances added to our special day. We
just finished watching a video of the wedding and the "soundtrack" was
excellent!
Brian & Laura B., New Orleans

(We) would like to thank you for playing at our wedding at Murphy’s Landing in June..... We had
countless compliments on our choice of music for the reception... Monroe Crossing is made up of truly
talented musicians who play flawlessly together. You play the kind of music I think of when someone
says bluegrass....I also want to thank you for suggesting that we use your caller to teach square dances. I
have to admit that I was a little skeptical at first, but it turned out to be awesome. He did a fantastic job
with a bunch of people who hadn’t done a square dance since 5th grade....I can, without reservation, say
that anyone looking for outstanding bluegrass music won’t be disappointed with Monroe Crossing.

What can we expect of Monroe Crossing at our ceremony?
We have a wide selection of music available: instrumental or with
vocals, religious or secular, modern or traditional. We can learn your
special song, or even collaborate on an original composition. Typically,
we provide fifteen minutes of prelude music, one or two select songs or
instrumentals during the ceremony itself, a recessional, and tasteful
exit music. Ask Art about the music that will transform a standard
wedding ceremony into your extraordinary event. We’ll be most happy to
accommodate your plans and ideas in every way! |
What can we expect of Monroe Crossing at our reception dance or dinner?
One reason Monroe Crossing is the Midwest’s premier bluegrass band is that
we have an extensive repertoire of music for your dancing and listening
pleasure. As in the video above, we will get everyone, young and
old, onto the dance floor with our traditional square dances. Our caller
teaches everyone the steps and walks them through it till they're
dancing like pros. We usually include a variety of lovely waltzes,
swing numbers, slow dances, a polka or two, and even some traditional
bluegrass favorites if you like.
And our microphone is available for toasts all night long!
|
What does Monroe Crossing need at our ceremony?
Being an acoustic group, we require very little. At your ceremony, we
can get by on as little as five chairs and a place to stand. For larger
churches and halls, we recommend amplification. We always provide our
own special old time "radio-style" microphone, and we can utilize an
existing sound system or bring our own. |
What does Monroe Crossing need at our reception dance or dinner?
All we really need a single electrical outlet for our sound system and
lighting, and a performance space or stage approximately 10' x 15'. And
of course, you and your wedding guests! |
You can contact Art Blackburn at 763-213-1349 and discuss all the details of your wedding.
